About Mrs. Howard
“It is never too late to be what you might have been” George Eliot
Hello! My name is Jody Howard, and I am so excited to be your teacher this year and to partner with you in your journey to improve as a reader, writer, and thinker! This is one of my all-time favorite quotations, for it reminds me that each new day is a fresh start: an opportunity for me to forge a different path and to become my best self!
Born and raised in Santa Monica, I am a graduate of Franklin Elementary School, Lincoln Middle School, and Santa Monica High School; in fact, I am now teaching in the same room where I learned about world history in 7th grade! It is a pleasure to be back at Lincoln Middle School. In addition to being a teacher and former student at Lincoln Middle School, I am also the mother of a Lincoln 7th grader and a 8th grader. My husband and I feel blessed that our children have been able to attend Lincoln and to experience the special community that exists here.
Our family extends to include five furry, gilled or shelled friends: a dog, a guinea pig, a cat, a fish, and and a tortoise. It can be a bit hectic around the house at feeding time, and sometimes it feels a bit like a farm, but we love our animals, and our family would not be complete without them!
It is going to be a fantastic year! Whether it is your second year of middle school or your last, I am here to help and support you. If for any reason, you need to reach me, my contact information is:
